Nope, not our pool, although Spencer was a good sport to launch the little ones into icy water. More pictures of our visitors after the jump. Read more
Flower Girls
These two were one of my favorite parts about the wedding! We’re still hoping to get a few more pictures back of all the children once our photographer comes back from her honeymoon. The next two pictures are also from Jordan Zobrist Photography, and then I’m stealing the rest from Emily. Remember this post about how my sister hated being left out of the fun? Emily captured some great glimpses of how unimpressed at least three of the little girls were with having to pose for pictures.
Luckily, the babies were more cooperative. Spencer’s nephew and twin nieces are growing so fast!
On an unrelated note, I know a few of the people who read this blog don’t have Instagram yet. A word to the wise about collaborations on social media–pick a good social media handle and then don’t change it. Last Saturday, I collaborated with Shabby Apple and Jordan Zobrist Photography on this Instagram picture.
Unfortunately, I forgot to tell Shabby Apple that I changed my instagram name from @aikaterini to @anne_reynolds_. So now a random girl in Greece (who took the @aikaterini name shortly after I gave it up) got 700+ notifications from an American clothing store. Live’n’Learn.
Date Night
This beautiful Temple is five miles from the highway in Palmyra–the perfect excuse for a pit stop as we drove home from our NY road trip. It was Sunday, so we just walked around the grounds before getting back in the car. But the short stop was a good reminder that we haven’t been in a while. So last weekend, Spencer and I drove out to Columbus for an evening date.
Besides the beautiful atmosphere of the temple, my favorite part of the trip was that this skirt came in just in time. Have you heard of Thred Up? This site is basically a high end thrift store where every piece of clothing is hand-inspected and certified for quality. I got this CAbi skirt for 4% of its listed price. Basically with this $10 off coupon, you just have to pay for shipping. My favorite part of the site is that you can customize your search for brand, size, etc.
Spencer’s favorite part of the trip was running into old family friends. Just as we were pulling out of the Temple, we passed a man pushing a stroller. Spencer commented that the man looked like an Olson. Then he realized what he’d said, rolled down the window, and yelled: “Hey I know this is random, but are you an Olson?” and then proceeded to nearly run over the stroller in his excitement. Spencer’s hunch was correct–we ran into his college roommate’s older brother who also roomed with Spencer’s older brother. Small world.
After catching up and a quick dinner, we drove home under a fading sunset and surrounded by corn fields blanketed in curling mist. Columbus is beautiful.
Legacy
These pictures were taken right after we were married and came out of the Temple. We kept the group relatively small–some extended family and my roommates. Big thank you to everyone who waited outside and graciously took these pictures in the pouring rain!
Anyone who knows us well knows that both Spencer and I are quite proud of the heritage on both sides of our families. Our immediate and extended families have greatly influenced who we are today. One of the best parts about marrying into Spencer’s family is his grandparents (and really I just know them best because they lived the closest). Whenever school life became chaotic last winter semester, Spencer and I would spend a quiet evening with his grandparents, swapping crazy travel stories. Spencer’s Grandma is the cute lady in the wheel chair to the left of the group. She lived in the Philippines as a child and her family was captured by the Japanese during World War II. You can read about her inspirational story here: Terry: The Inspiring Story of a Little Girl’s Survival as a POW During WWII.

Bloglovin’
As a newcomer to the blogosphere, I’ve recently talked to a few people who follow many blogs. Typically, they save a site as a favorite and then periodically check back for any updates. I used to do that and it was such a pain! There are many ways to subscribe to blogs, but I’ve found that bloglovin’ saves me the most time and is thus my favorite.
This is what a homepage looks like with new posts (left) and the blogs that you follow (right).
Not only does bloglovin’ keep all my favorite blogs in one place, but I adjusted my settings (see below) so that I get one email every morning with any new updates from the day before. Another great aspect of bloglovin’ is that it sends you to the actual post so that you get the full effect intended by the blogger.
Do you use bloglovin’? I’m curious what other people think of it.
If you do, you can click here to follow our blog or download the iPhone app here.

“Layout they said, it’ll look sick they said”
Lest you think that all of our friends perfectly catch disks while diving into a sunny lake (like in this post), here are some bloopers.
If you polled our host, he’d probably say this was his favorite part of our trip. My favorite part of the weekend? New and old friends. Especially this girl.
I love friendships that you can pick up exactly where you left off. Livia and I were in the same House (think Harry Potter) and friend group in 9th grade. Besides a quick lunch with our classmates six years ago in Washington, D.C., we hadn’t been in the same place since I moved away from Canada. She is just as funny, beautiful, and thoughtful as I remembered (Skype dates help–thank you modern technology). Livia is in the Indie-folk-pop band Motel Raphaël which is gaining steam in Canada. Their first album was just released on iTunes and they represented Montreal in the national CBC: Searchlight competition. My favorite song on the album is the new version of their music video “Ghosts“. A chill tune for summer days.
